Baccarat:
Baccarat
(pronounced bah-ca-rah) is the French version of an Italian game
that was introduced in France in the late 15th century. Easy to
learn and fun to play, Baccarat is a game to be enjoyed by
everyone, even though it is often considered the most glamorous
game in the casino.
How to Play
CHANGING BETS
Change your bet by selecting an amount using the Bet Console in
the lower screen.
If you raise the amount higher than your current balance
permits, your bet will not be placed. In this case, either
increase your balance by depositing funds, or reduce your bet.
The bet limit is based on the table selected.
PLACING BETS
Each time you click on the bet amount it will either raise or
lower your bet.
For example, to change from the initial bet of $5 to $10, simply
click on the + or - chips. The bet amount has now been raised or
lowered to your desired amount.
STARTING THE DEAL
A minimum bet of $1 (distributed among any of the three possible
bets) is required to start the deal. If the total bet placed on
the table is at least the required minimum, the DEAL button will
light up, indicating that you may click it to start the deal.
Once the DEAL button is clicked, bets can no longer be changed
or removed, and the game begins with the initial deal.
If you have already played a hand of Baccarat and you have
sufficient funds to repeat the previous bet, the DEAL button may
be enabled without any bets on the table. In this case, clicking
the DEAL button will start a new hand using the same bets made
for the previous hand. This is a quick way of repeating the
previous wager without having to click in the designated betting
areas to place your bets again.
PLAYING THE GAME
Baccarat requires no intervention by the player once the cards
have been dealt. There are specific rules (see THE RULES) that
dictate whether the player or banker receives a third card, but
these rules are carried out entirely by the dealer. The player
does not need to be familiar with the "third card" rules.
Rules
OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME The player's objective is to correctly
predict which of the two hands(Player or Banker) will have a
point total closest to 9.HOW TO PLAYThis version of Baccarat
uses eight decks of cards. The deck is reshuffled after each
hand. The Bets: The main game is a wager on the Player's hand or
the Banker's hand:
Player: Pays even money.
Banker: Pays even money minus a 5% commission which is collected
on winning bets.
Tie: Pays 9 to 1 if the Player and Banker points total tie.
Select an initial bet amount then click in the designated
betting areas. The valid betting areas are in the center. Place
your bet in the "BANKER" row to bet on the bank's hand, or in
the "PLAYER" row to bet on the player's hand. To bet on a tie,
place your bet in the "TIE" area. The minimum bet is $1 and the
maximum bet is $100.
The Deal: The player is dealt the first and third card while the
second and fourth cards are dealt to the bank. Specific rules
dictate whether a third card is drawn for the player or the
bank. The player's hand is completed first. The Cards: Aces count
as 1. All face cards and tens count as 0. All other cards are
counted at face value. Each hands point total is the last digit
of the sum of their cards. So for example:
4 + 3 = 7. This hand's point total is 7.
Q + 5 = 5 This hand's point total is 5.
K + J = 0. This hand's point total is 0.
2 + 10 + 4 = 6. This hand's point total is 6.
K + 5 + 6 = 11. This hand's point total is 1.
8 + 4 + 7 = 19. This hand's point total is 9.
The winner of the game is the hand whose point total is closest
to 9. In the case of a tie, the bets on the Bank and the Player
are stand-offs and neither the Bank or Player wins nor loses
unless the Player has placed a wager on TIE.RULES FOR
DRAWINGWhen player's first two cards total:
0-1-2-3-4-5 Player draws a card
6-7 Player stands
8-9 Natural, banker cannot draw
Bingo:
Bingo is played
in halls. Bingo rules and payouts and play variations vary from
place to place. Bingo brochures detailing particular games,
rules and payouts are usually available at each respective
location.
Rules
Basically, players buy cards with numbers on them in a 5 x 5
grid corresponding to the five letters in the word B-I-N-G-O.
Numbers such as B-2 or 0-68 are then drawn at random (out of a
possible 75 in American Bingo, and 90 in British and Australian
Bingo) until one player completes a 'Bingo' pattern, such as a
line with five numbers in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row
on one of their cards and wins the prize. There are many
possible patterns to play for. See here examples of bingo
patterns (link opens new window).
How to play
A bingo Card contains 24 numbered spaces and one free space
(blank), with which you play BINGO. The numbers are assigned at
random on each card and are arranged in five columns of five
numbers each by five rows (5 x 5 = 25 in total including the
blank square).
The numbers in the B column are between 1 and 15, in the I
column between 16 and 30, in the N column (containing four
numbers and the free space) between 31 and 45, in the G column
between 46 and 60, and in the O column between 61 and 75.
Players have thousands of unique (unduplicated) cards to choose
from. Some manufacturers print unduplicated series of 6,000
cards. There are also series of 9,000 cards available. Hard
cards and Flimsy cards have a series number printed on them. For
example, card number 1252 will always have the same numbers in
the same spaces.
Bingo in the United Kingdom and Australia
In the U.K. Bingo is played mainly in large halls with cash
prizes, the larger commercial concerns are linked up with other
halls during one particular game in the evening and large cash
sums can be won on these.
It is also played in nearly every seaside town in the U.K. on
screens in front of the player who pulls a slide across to cover
the number called, but, presumably because of our gambling laws,
there are no cash prizes, just various items like cuddly toys.
The other times Bingo is played, again for prizes, not cash, is
in a myriad of local halls or schools around the country,
usually as a fund raiser for various concerns like an old
people’s Day Centre. Here the prizes are donated by shopkeepers
and businesses in the town and surrounding area and the
atmosphere at these Bingo games is usually very relaxed and a
fun evening out where everyone is welcome, even children.
The prizes vary for these games but on average a prize for any
one line is worth about £1.00 - £2.50 (depending on who is
organising the bingo evening), any 2 lines would be worth about
£2 - £5 and a full house (all the numbers on a card) worth £5 -
£10. They could be boxes of chocolates, bottles of wine, a
grocery hamper, a voucher from a local butcher for meat or a
cream tea for two at a local tea-shop or even 2 free passes to a
swimming pool. Anything really.
U.K. (and Australian) bingo cards have three lines and nine
columns (see picture above) and usually come in "Books"; single
or multiple. A single book would contain ten 10 pages (10 cards)
each of a different colour: Gold, Lime, Violet, Yellow, Pink,
Grey, Orange, Blue, Red and White.
A multiple book has 6 single books. Each page in a multiple book
has 6 cards of the same colour. The 6 cards on a page are joined
with perforated edges and can be pulled apart. Experienced
players will play all 6 books and inexperienced players or young
children may only play 1 book, or even a single card.
As well as books, there are also single sheets of bingo cards
sold with the 6 sections on (six cards) and these are called
"Flyers". Again you can buy just one section or 6 to suit your
pocket or your experience. The flyers cost more per game than on
the books but the prizes are usually worth a bit more.
In the large towns and cities Bingo is fairly "big business" and
people play in deadly earnest, hoping to win that elusive
jackpot. In small towns and villages it’s much more of a social
occasion with amateur callers and a lot lighter atmosphere.
Australia uses the same bingo cards as in the U.K. In Sydney and
Melbourne the callers are incredibly fast. In Perth they call a
lot slower.
Blackjack:
Blackjack (also
known as twenty-one), is a descendant of Baccarat and is often
considered one of the world's most popular casino table games.
How to Play
Blackjack:
Change your bet by selecting an amount using the Bet Console in
the lower left and right corner of the screen. Select the amount
to bet by choosing one of the chips on the bet panel.
If you raise the amount higher than your current balance
permits, your bet will not be placed. In this case, either
increase your balance by depositing funds, or reduce your bet.
The bet limit is based on the table selected.
PLACING BETS
Each time you left-click on the chips at the lower left corner
the amount of your wager is increased by that amount, and each
time you left-click on the chips at the lower right corner the
amount of your wager is decreased by that amount.
STARTING THE DEAL
A minimum bet of $1 is required to start the deal. If the total
bet placed on the table is at least the required minimum, the
DEAL button will light up, indicating that you may click it to
start the deal. Once the DEAL button is clicked, bets can no
longer be changed or removed, and the game begins with the
initial deal.
If you haven't placed any bets on the table before clicking
DEAL, the current bet amount displayed in the Bet Console will
automatically be placed on the table and the game will begin.
This allows to you start a new game quickly by just clicking the
DEAL button again. If you have sufficient funds, the game will
begin using the same bet made in the previous game.
Crapes:
If you happen
to hear a group of people making a lot of noise in a casino,
they're probably playing Craps.
Craps is by far the fastest
table game in the casino and can often be one of the most
exciting. A single throw of the dice can often win a lot of
money. The game is thought to have originated in the United
States, derived from a popular game that existed long ago in
England.
How to Play
CHANGING BETS
Change your bet by selecting an amount using the Bet Console in
the lower left corner of the screen. Select the amount to bet by
choosing one of the four chips on the bet panel.
If you raise the amount higher than your current balance
permits, the bet amount will turn red. In this case, either
increase your balance by depositing funds, or reduce your bet.
The bet limit is based on the table selected.
PLACING BETS
Each time you left-click inside the designated betting areas
on the Craps table, you will place your current bet amount on
the table -- adding to any chips that might already be there. To
remove your current bet amount from the table, right-click
inside one of the designated betting areas. Note that some bets
can only be made when there is a point established, while others
can only be made on the come out roll. The images below show
which bets can be made on the come out roll and which bets can
be made once a point has been established.
For example: Clicking on the Pass Line at the bottom of the
craps table places a $10 bet (two $5 chips) on the Pass Line.
Clicking again on the Pass Line will place another $10 for a
total bet of $20 on the Pass Line. If you right-click on the
Pass Line you will remove $10 from the table, leaving $10.
Some bets such as Place, Don't Place, Come, Don't Come, Buy, and
Lay are not marked on a craps table. The image on the left shows
where each bet is placed on a craps table. An Odds bet will
appear just to the right of a normal bet.
Buy bets and Lay bets are located on the line in the lower right
corner of each Come/Don't Come box respectively.
Keno:
A lottery game
invented thousands of years ago in China. It was brought to the
United States when the Chinese came to build the railroads in
the 1800s. Originally the game had 80 different Chinese
characters. These were later changed to the Arabic numbers after
the Americans adopted the game for their use.
Keno Objectives:
The keno board has numbers 1 through 80 to choose from. To
play the game, select up to 10 numbers by clicking on them. The
winning numbers are then chosen lotto-style, and depending on
the number of hits you get, you win according to the Payoff
table.
How to Play Keno:
Start by choosing the wager: $1, $5 or $10. Click the
numbers on which you would like to bet. You can mark from three
to ten different numbers.
Choose the number of rounds you want to play. Select either Play
One, Five or Ten.
Payout is determined by how much you wager, how many keno
numbers you select and how many selected numbers actually hit.
Poker :
Poker
originated in the saloons of the Wild West and has probably the
most game variants. It is played player against players and not
just against the dealer as in Blackjack, and there is a lot of
psychology involved during play.
Rules
Poker is played from a standard deck of 52 cards. Some variant
games use multiple decks or add Jokers or Wild Cards.
How to play
The cards are ranked in descending order starting from the
highest; Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,
Ace. Ace can be high or low. There are four suits; spades,
hearts, diamonds and clubs, but no suit is higher than another.
Each player is dealt five cards and is called a hand. The hand
highest in ranks wins. In some games there are Wild Cards or
Jokers, which can be labelled whatever suit and rank the
possessor wishes to.
The Ranking of Poker Hands
The ranking of poker hands based on probability starting from
the highest are as follows:
Royal Flush
Five of a Kind (with a Wild card or Joker)
Straight Flush
Four of a Kind
Full House
Flush
Straight
Three of a Kind
Two Pair
Pair
High Card
Five of a Kind: is only possible when using wild cards and is
the highest possible hand. If more than one hand has
five-of-a-kind, the higher rank wins; e.g. five Aces beat five
kings, which beat five queens, and so on.
Straight Flush: is the best natural hand. A straight flush
consists of five cards in sequence and of the same suit. An Ace
high straight-flush is called a Royal Straight Flush or Royal
Flush and is the highest natural hand.
Four of a Kind: is a hand that contains of four cards of the
same rank. The hand with the highest rank of four-of-a-kind
beats other four-of-a-kind hands. If there are many wild cards,
as used in some game variants, there could be two four-of-a-kind
hands with the same rank. In this case, the hand with the higher
ranking fifth card wins. This rule applies to hands that tie,
such as a pair or two pairs. Dead heats split the pot.
Full House: is a hand consisting of three-of-a-kind and a pair.
Again, where Wild Cards are used, ties are compared first by the
three-of-a-kind ranking, then the pair.
Flush: is a hand consisting of cards that are all of the same
suit in any order.
Straight: is a hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence, such as
5-6-7-8-9. An Ace may either be high (A-K-Q-J-10) or low
(A-2-3-4-5).
Three of a Kind is a hand similar to the four-of-a-kind hand,
except that if the remaining two cards are a pair, then it
becomes a Full House.
Two Pair is a hand that contains two pairs only.
Pair is a hand that contains one pair only.
High Card: is a hand that is none of the above and is a weak
hand. If no player has a pair or better, then the hand that
contains the highest ranking card wins. If multiple players tie
with the highest card, then the second highest card decides,
followed by the third and so on.
